The scientific dissemination of the results of the project will be accomplished by publishing papers in international scientific journals and by presentations at international conferences on transportation and logistics. Examples of relevant scientific journals are: Transportation Research Parts A and B and Transportation Science, Operations Research, Management Science. Examples of relevant conferences are: POMS, Tristan, IAROR, INFORMS, and the TSL workshop. The scientists involved in CO2REOPT have a demonstrated track record in scientific dissemination and publications in top journals. In addition, personnel involved in CORE2OPT will disseminate through academic tours, invited presentations and workshops. We remark that key personnel in CORE2OPT are internationally renowned scientists, and they are likely to receive invitations to give key-note lectures in conference, or to participate to program and scientific committees, international boards, etc.
The professional dissemination of the results of the project will first be accomplished by regular meetings with the project partners. Second, we will organize two workshops that will target a broader audience than the project partners. Moreover, results will be disseminated through existing national and international trade networks and conferences, including Transportforum and Nordic Rail, but also international conferences such as the Heavy Haul Association Conference and trade fairs such as Innotrans and SmartRail, and through the national operations research associations in Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands. A website for the project will be set up, online media (Twitter and LinkedIn) will be used to spread project results and information, and traditional media will be informed through partner-established channels. Finally, a brief online video will be produced to highlight the results of the project via the internet (cf. the RSM Discovery videos).
The main results of the project will be two prototypes of decision support tools that can be used by companies to support them in designing their transport chains according to the objectives of the project. These prototypes will be developed in cooperation with the project partners and will be integrated. They will be made available to the project partners already during the project, so that their validity can be tested then already. By the end of the project, the project partners may decide to further develop these tools into professional decision support systems that can be used in the design of their transport chains.
